He Is Nearer Than You Think.

So we see where life is getting harder and harder everyday. Items that were once cheap are now very costly, we see that nowhere is safe anymore because crime has gotten out of hand, earthquakes and storms are affecting regions scientists thought would never be affected all this tells us that the coming of the Lord is near…nearer than we think. This is not a message to scare anybody, but its the plain truth and it is quite obvious!! I’ve said it before and I must say it again, but we MUST put off those things that displease the Lord; we know they are wrong and we still continue to do them. God is truly a merciful God because many of us have done some terrible things but Jesus, full of mercy and grace over and over again, has given us chances…and guess what, we’ve succeeded in blowing our chances. I often wonder how the Lord feels, walking in His shoes I’d be frustrated and looking through His eyes I’d be frustrated to see some of the grievous things mankind partake in.
Jesus however has made a way to see to it that after all this struggling we’ll have eternal joy and peace in that place He has prepared for us. But seeing that He made a sacrifice and gave His life for us, so should we. We should be willing to give our all to Him. Friends, give Jesus a try!! Give Him a try and watch Him work wonders in your life. It’s good to be saved and sanctified. But being saved does not take place at once. What are the steps to being saved? They are outlined in Acts 2:38 – short and easily understood.
1) Repent of your sins; Confess all your sins to the Lord…You must mean it.
2) Get baptized in Jesus' name- Like Christ was buried so should we…We must be “buried” under water in order for our sins to be washed away.
3) We must then seek the Holy Ghost- it was promised to us. Not long after baptism if we are fervent we shall receive the Holy Ghost which signifies the resurrection(New Life). When we have the Holy Ghost we have power, confidence, joy among many other wonderful things.
4) Live a righteous life- Oh yes its inevitable that we live Holy lives, as without holiness no man shall see God. We must put away the lust of the eye, pleasures of this world and turn our eyes upon the Lord.
Follow these steps brethren and I can guarantee you, that all the troubles of this world….will be worth it after all because we will then have the blessed assurance that we’ll be in Heaven just after this phase.
